Amir Ahani (MCSD .NET + MBA) is a trainer and senior software consultant who lives in Vancouver, Canada. He has been teaching advanced Microsoft courses at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) since 2003. He has been also managing three lines of products at Motion Metrics International Corp since 2007.
Amir specializes in Microsoft .NET technologies and spends most of his time teaching and consulting across Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia, Middle-East, South America, and the United States.
Over the years, Amir developed hands-on experience and skills in architecting and building desktop and distributed systems for mining industry and for multi-transactional systems such as banks, insurance systems and, in general, in industry contexts where the demand for security, optimization, performance, scalability, and interoperability is dramatically high.
He is also a member of the following communities: ASQ, APICS, PMI, .netBC, NPA, and ITAC. He has written a book about Practical business blueprints in C# and VB and PACKT publishing will publish it soon.
Guy Barrette est un architecte de solutions basé à Montréal, Canada. Il est le directeur régional Microsoft pour la région de Montréal et un MVP Windows Azure. Mario Cardinal est un consultant indépendant, spécialisé en architecture logicielle. Il adore extraire l'essentiel d'une situation compliquée, trier les idées fondamentales des distractions connexes, et fournir un résumé facile à comprendre. Il possède plus de vingt années d'expérience en conception de systèmes d'information d'envergure. Depuis 2004, il anime le Visual Studio Talk Show, un podcast portant sur l’architecture logicielle. Il est récipiendaire, pour une septième année consécutive, de la récompense professionnel Microsoft « Most Valuable Professional » (MVP). Il présente régulièrement sur l’architecture et l’agilité lors de conférences internationales. Il dirige le groupe d’architecture de la communauté .NET montréalaise et est « tech chair » de la piste d’architecture pour la conférence DevTeach. Mario est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en génie informatique et d’une maîtrise en management de la technologie de l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. Il a également obtenu les certifications suivantes : Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (Team Foundation Server) et Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. Il partage ses loisirs avec son épouse, Nathalie, et ses quatre enfants.
Bryan Costanich is the Director of Education at Xamarin, makers of MonoTouch and Mono for Android. He's a former Microsoft engineer, published author and renowned software architect. He's also a mobile development expert. In addition to having published to the Apple App Store, his recent project, MuveMusic, which runs on Android is the fastest growing music subscription service on the planet. When not working in tech, you can find Bryan monkeying around in Hollywood, or out in the mountains.
Kathleen développe des applications d'affaire depuis plus de 20 ans, programmant en Visual BASIC depuis presque dix ans et travaillant avec .NET depuis les premiers bêtas. Markus Egger est le propriétaire de EPS Software Corporation et il se spécialise dans le développement orienté objet, le développement Internet, la formation et la consultation. Llewellyn Falco is an instructor for DevelopMentor. He is the creator of the open source testing tool ApprovalTests, and Java Lambdas (www.approvaltests.com ). He spends most of his time programming in Java and C#. Llewellyn splits his career between creating new programs and helping clients to modernize their existing legacy systems and has found joy in both. He also volunteers creating courseware and teaching kids to program (www.teachingkidsprogramming.org ) and on the SmartCare medical records project in Lusaka, Zambia. Carl Franklin a été une célébrité dans la communauté VB depuis le tout début au moment ou il écrivait pour le Visual Basic Programmers Journal. Il écrivait le Q&R du magazine ansi que plusieurs articles. Il a écrit deux livres pour John Wiley & Sons sur la programmation des "sockets" avec VB. En 1994, il a participé à la création du premier site internet pour le développeur VB, Carl & Garyès VB Home Page. Présentement Carl fait de la formation sur VB.Net et est un des présentateur du "Talk Show" .NET Rock! Carl est MSDN Regional Director pour le Connecticut.
Je compte plus de douze années d’expérience dans le développement d’applications en utilisant les technologies Microsoft dont 8 années en .NET. J'ai participé à de nombreux projets pour des entreprises d’envergure comme Desjardins, Eli Lilly, Domtar, Cascades et Alcoa. Je suis mordu de la programmation .NET, j'aime apprendre de nouvelles astuces, voir de nouveaux outils, explorer de nouvelles technologies liées à .NET et partager ces nouveautés avec mes collègues. Je suis MVP C# et actuellement conseiller sénior en livraison de systèmes chez DMR.
John started programming with SQL Server in 1994. He has been involved into many implementations of large scale database applications and data warehouse projects. While he was a lead of a small database team in National Money Mart Company, he automated majority DBA tasks over a very complex distributed SQL Server system with almost 1000 instances involved. As an SQL Server expert, he successfully passed Microsoft Certified Master of SQL Server at beginning of year 2009 and became to the first Certified Master of SQL Server outside Microsoft. Now he is an independent SQL Server consultant specialized in performance tuning, database design, data processing, and troubleshooting.
Jessica Kerr originated in Edmonton, AB, but now hails from St. Louis, MO. She programs in Java and JavaScript for her day job, but her nighttime forays into more interesting languages like F# have revealed that .NET is a fascinating place. She is busy taking over the world (or at least the local user group community) while writing articles for general consumption at developerFusion.com and NFJS magazine. In between, she tries to keep two children alive without squashing their innate craziness.
Lynn Langit recently left 4 years at Microsoft as a Sr. Developer Evangelist to return to private consulting and training. Before joining Microsoft, Lynn ran her own development and training company. There she build out SQL BI solutions for customers as diverse as Microsoft corporate, Orange County, CA-based non-profits and Zambian (Africa) Electronic Medical Records. In addition to building, Lynn has been a techinical trainer for 12 years. She is also the author of several books on Microsoft BI, the latest of which is 'Smart Business Intelligence Solutions with SQL Server 2008'. Lynn is also passionate about providing the next generation with the highest quality technical education. She is the co-founder of a non-profit, 'Teaching Kids Programming'. Courseware from this all-volunteer group is based on Agile practices and is designed to teach kids ages 10 and up how to program. TKP courseware is currently used in 15 US states and 10 countries. In 2012, TKP will add courseware to introduce kids to 'BigData'.
Wei-Meng Lee is a technologist and founder of Developer Learning Solutions (http://www.learn2develop.net), a technology company specializing in hands-on training on the latest mobile technologies. Wei-Meng has many years of training experiences and his training courses place special emphasis on the learning-by-doing approach. His hands-on approach to learning programming makes understanding the subject much easier than reading books, tutorials, and documentations. Wei-Meng wrote Beginning Android Application Development (Wrox, forthcoming 2011) and Beginning iOS 4 Application Development (Wrox).
I have been programming since 1995; I worked on back-end and front end until 2005; from that point on I concentrated solely on front-end development. My career started with C, C++ for the first 4 years, then I switched to Java and J2EE for 3 years, then PHP for a few years, HTML, CSS, mySQL were prominent then. In 2005 I concentrated on ActionScript full-time (Flash), and since 2009 I work on Android and iOS. I am in the process of building a start-up, applied for 2 patents this year on user experience paradigms for mobile; one for mCommerce and one for a Discovery Engine.
Thomas Lewis is a Principal Developer & Designer Evangelist at Microsoft focused on HTML5, Windows 8 and the web designer/developer community in Canada. When he is not thinking about the brutality of HTML5, Microsoft, and Design, he is plotting the eradication of Internet Explorer 6 from the planet.
Ted Neward est un consultant indépendant et architecte de systèmes dans la région de Sacramento Californie. Il est auteur de plusieurs livres incluant Server-Based Java Programming" (Manning), the forthcoming "Effective Enterprise Java" (Addison-Wesley) and "SSCLI Essentials" (OReilly) and co-author of "C# In a Nutshell" (OReilly) avec Peter Drayton et Ben Albahari. Il est aussi un professeur pour DevelopMentor pour qui il enseigne JAVA et .NET. Il écrit fréquemment des articles pour www.javageeks.com and www.clrgeeks.com. Depuis 1987, Jean-René Roy développe des systèmes informatiques pour les petites et grandes entreprises. En 1991, il a fondé la firme de consultation Technologies SoftDesign Inc. ce qui lui a permis de développer des systèmes pour Bell Canada, CGI, ArchiDATA, Sun Telecom, Accent de Ville, Kraft, ADN Médical et bien d’autres clients. Il est très actif au sein de la communauté des développeurs en agissant comme directeur pour les groupes MFUG, SSMUG et GUVSM depuis plus de 10 ans. Il est aussi le fondateur et président de la conférence internationale www.DevTeach.com. Jean-René Roy est Microsoft MVP depuis 2007.
Tamer Salama started out his software development career in 2003 as a
Java developer. In 2005, he was fed-up with the overhead that Java
brought to web applications development and started exploring Ruby on
Rails. He was hooked. For the past 7 years, he has developed with the
framework for various domains including Manufacturing, End-user, B2B
and Oil & Gas. He currently consults for Cenovus Energy designing and
developing small/mid-size Ruby on Rails applications.
Tamer is the founder and president of Noria Technologies, a
Calgary-based tech consulting and custom-development shop. He has 18
years of combined Engineering and Software development experience and
holds a MSc. in Engineering and a MSc. Information Systems.
Ben Scheirman is a software craftsman, speaker, author, and blogger. He enjoys programming on a multitude of platforms, most recently Rails and iOS. When not programming, Ben enjoys playing guitar, geeking out about beer, and spending time with his wife and five wonderful children. Ben is the Director of Development for ChaiONE in Houston, TX. Dylan Smith is an ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) consultant for Imaginet where he spends his time helping teams become more successful at delivering software. Dylan has over a decades experience designing and architecting mission critical applications. In the past 7 years Dylan has focused on agile development techniques and practices. He has led the shift to agile and lean development practices across multiple teams, projects and companies.
Charles Sterling aka "Chuck" has over 15 years of Developer tools experience at Microsoft. He came to Microsoft from being a marine biologist working for the United States National Marine Fisheries doing marine mammal research on the Bering Sea. An MCSE and MCSD, he started out at Microsoft in developer support focusing on FOXPRO, Visual Basic and the platform SDK, then worked as an engineer for the database teams on ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and specializing in Microsoft SQL Server. From there Charles took a position with the Solutions Integration Escalation Team, which focused on assisting Microsoft customers with the integration of disparate software technologies into viable enterprise solutions, on this team Charles focused on Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) doing numerous talks at conferences, writing papers and teaching classes on the topic. Charles’ role in Redmond before moving to Australia for the last seven years was the product manager for the .NET Framework. Chuck is currently back in Redmond working as Program Manager in the Visual Studio Team System Team.
Etienne Tremblay est un Directeur Associé en charge du centre de technologies Microsoft chez Fujitsu Canada avec 20 ans d’expérience en technologie des TI. Au cours des 12 dernières années il s’est spécialiser dans les technologies Microsoft, spécifiquement dans la gestion des procéder de développement, il a aussi une expertise dans les industries minières et manufacturières. Il est conférencier pour DevTeach une conférence international et participe au conseil facultatif Visual Studio Team System en tant qu’expert et MVP Microsoft.
John Waters is the lead architect and developer of a number of high profile software products and solutions, including the Velocity ERP system, the HC Standard Critical Asset Tracking system, and numerous financial software systems. John has spoken at conferences all over the world on topics ranging from Parallel Computing to Windows Phone development. Currently, John is working on Windows Azure Cloud Computing and Mobile Development. John previously founded and run several consulting companies in Sweden, and has worked at Falafel Software in California since 2003.
